I found the resort to have a charming and laid-back atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The old-fashioned style gives it a homey feel, and there were plenty of activities around, including a fun dinner cruise and scenic train ride. However, my short stay in a suite felt a bit dated, and not everything was ideal, especially with noise from neighbors. Overall, it's a place I might consider returning to, but with some reservations.

Rooms

The suite was quite spacious with a large bedroom and sitting area, but it felt somewhat dated and could use modern touches.
Service

I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but I did find the response to my concerns lacking.

I enjoyed the variety of local dining experiences like the theater dinner, but the resort's dining options were not explored.

I noticed some nice amenities like a pool and tennis courts, even though I didn't get a chance to use them.

7.0/10

I recently stayed at Winddrifter for a couple of days and overall, we had a pleasant time. The place is a bit dated but it was very clean, which I appreciated. The indoor pool was a lifesaver for the kids when our boating plans got rained out. However, the lack of toiletries like shampoo and shower gel was a letdown, especially since our group forgot to pack them. Still, it was a solid stay overall.

Rooms

The rooms are quite old but impeccably clean.
Service

Service was decent; however, there was no staff available after hours which can be a concern.

The cottage we stayed in had an impressive location right by the water, offering stunning views. It was nice to enjoy breakfast on the deck, but unfortunately, the cottage was quite small and not well maintained. The bedroom was particularly disappointing, with outdated furnishings and little room to maneuver. It was frustrating to deal with the noise from the upstairs unit, and the fact that amenities were located a mile and a half away felt misleading. Overall, it didn’t justify the price we paid.

Rooms
5.0
The cottage was tiny with outdated and poorly kept furnishings. The bedroom was especially uncomfortable and lacked basic storage space.
Service
5.0
There was no on-site assistance, and they expected us to take out our own garbage, which felt inconvenient.
Location

The location was beautiful by the lake, offering breathtaking views right outside the door.
Dining
Facilities

The amenities were far from the cottage, requiring a drive to access them, which was quite inconvenient.

I really enjoyed my stay at Windrifter. It has a charming, cozy vibe and offers a great location both by the waterfront and near the golf course. While my room had a bit of a cleanliness issue upon arrival, the staff was responsive and made it right. The amenities like the indoor pool and access to trails were excellent. Overall, a good value for a relaxing getaway, though I did find the rooms a bit dated.

My room was clean but wasn't very tidy when I arrived. It had a lovely view of the docks, and the layout was great for stretching out. I felt the room could use some updates.

7.8/10

My stay at the resort was enjoyable overall, especially because of the lovely location near the lake and the golf course. The units were charming, and I appreciated the helpful owners who made us feel welcome. However, there were some issues with the condition of the bathroom and the amenities that dampened the experience a bit.

Rooms
7.0
The studio unit we stayed in was nice, but it could use some updating. The Murphy bed was very low to the ground and took up a lot of space. The kitchenette was fine but lacked a dishwasher.
Service
8.0
The owners were incredibly helpful and put together a lovely welcome for all families, which included delicious donuts. However, some options were quite basic.
Location
9.0
The resort is situated in a beautiful little town right on the lake, making it a great base for exploring nearby beaches and the White Mountains. It’s conveniently less than an hour to both locations.
Dining
Facilities
7.0
While I didn't use many amenities, the resort was located on a golf course, which could be a hit for those interested. The general facilities were suitable but not particularly standout.
